Guardian Saints work exclusively with organisations and individuals (fostering services and foster Carers) who are responsible for safeguarding young people in care. We help them build robust policy and practice with regard to data protection and online safety.

With the exponential increase in the use of the internet for both business and social activities set to continue, now, more than ever, it is vital that we ensure that young people in care are adequately protected. As part of the prize draws we asked participants to answer a few brief questions about how they use the internet, their views, experiences and any issues that concern them. We will use the responses provided to push for changes to make the internet a safer place for all young people to use.

Once again we thank you for your continued commitment to our services and helping us make the internet a safer place for Young People.

Statement from our winners:

"In our world of internet connectivity and social media applications; online safety is an intrinsic element of the training given to our Foster Carers; from pre-approval training, all the way through the fostering journey.

Education is key; and the messages given to our carers and young people in order to keep safe online are constantly evolving in order to capture latest trends and give them the tools in order to remain informed and safe."

Unity Foster Care

"Time Out Fostering recognise the huge benefits of the internet to young people and endeavour to support Foster Carers and Children to reap the rewards of technology in a safe and appropriate way.  We have a CEOPs Ambassador that can deliver up to date training and keep abreast of new apps that young people are using. We have found that carers and staff can learn an immense amount from the young people in our care and encourage open communication about what they enjoy doing online.  Although this has been a difficult year for all the Pandemic has opened opportunities for carers and staff to learn more from young people through home schooling and more leisure time being spent online."
